Meet Jessica
Jessica Heckwolf
LCMFT, LCPAT, ATR-BC
Hi, I’m Jessica . I’m here to help you find your way through life’s plot twists and thrive. I’m a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist and licensed clinical professional art therapist. These two areas provide a treatment approach rooted in family systems and psychodynamic theory. I’m also trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and use skills training based in DBT to expand healthy living and build healthy relationships.
I have 20 years experience helping others heal through art making. I graduated with honors from Loyola Marymount University, earning a Masters of Marriage and Family Therapy with specialization in Art Therapy. Before private practice, I was part of the treatment team at The Retreat at Sheppard Pratt, developed the Expressive Therapy Program at Franciscan Children’s in Boston and published work on Art Therapy and DBT. I also have experience with internship supervision, training, and teaching Art Therapy.
Jessica’s Specialties
Young Adults
You’ve checked all the boxes yet somehow it doesn’t feel like your achievements are adding up. Whether you feel lost, unsatisfied, or a giant “this is it?” I’m here to help you grow into the capable, engaged, and fully living life adult you want to be. Perhaps it’s a quest of finding meaning, finding a partner on your level, or maybe letting go of all the “shoulds” and saying hello to what you truly want- participating in therapy has the potential to deliver what is missing and make way for the new beginnings you design.
Perinatal mental Health
You imagined becoming a parent, yet now that you are here the path does not feel so linear. You are enough and you will get through this. The transition to parenthood, including becoming pregnant, being pregnant and the postpartum period is a thrilling yet also abrupt one, with losses not always talked about. Dedicating time for yourself through therapy can provide the transitional space needed to find your inner power as you build this new life with your little one. Hard to get out of the house? Telehealth is an option for clients across Maryland.
